The people at Marin are as unique as the work we do. Our Life at Marin series highlights the expertise, passions, and backgrounds of our fellow Marinites.

What do you currently do at Marin Software? Were there other roles you previously held here?

I’m Executive Assistant to the EVP of Product and Technology, SVP of Customer Success, and SVP of Business Operations and
Partner Development.

What motivated you to join Marin Software?

Having worked for a few startups, I wanted to stay in tech but be a part of a successful, growing company that was already well established, and the team here is fantastic.

What is it about your team that you’re most proud of? What one thing do you do in this role that you’re most proud of?

The Executive Assistant (EA) team works very closely together to find the best solutions for all our executives. Because I believe cross-pollination is essential for a successful company, I work to encourage and promote that culture within the entire company through partnership with my executives, meetings, and multi-team events.

What do you enjoy most about your role? What would you like to learn more about or what inspires you?

Every EA role grows with the working relationships between the EA and the team, which I find really rewarding. I also appreciate the open office culture at Marin where everyone has an open-door policy, including our CEO and all our C-levels and SVPs. I’m learning more about the industry every day and how it works. It’s an inspiring and integral part of my role.

What was your former professional life?

My career began in the travel business. I’ve worked regularly in corporate and academic event planning and program management throughout my career, and in a number of support roles early on with side career stints in garden design and graphic design. I’m still designing for garden and landscape, but not for work. For the last six years or so I’ve focused on the EA role and building experience there. I’m a visual artist and hold a BFA degree, but I prefer to keep that separate from my career.

What are your interests/hobbies?

I’m a visual artist, musician, and writer, and I love traveling, hiking, camping, and just generally being outside. I also volunteer regularly at an animal shelter doing re-socialization of traumatized and neglected cats.

What are you reading now?

The Gulf Stream by William MacLeish and one on the history of water in California.

Who is the one person/group of people/organization you admire most? Why?

That’s a really tough one—there are many. Big inspirations are Rigoberta Menchú, Jane Goodall, César Chávez, Berta Caceres, Bayard Rustin, and all those who fight daily in any way—no matter how small—for environmental protection; animal, women’s, veterans’, civil, and human rights; peace; and social justice.
